The Exiled Signal is an independent, eclectic music show hosted by Green Coast Radio personality and DJ The Alex. It’s a human-curated transmission for people who still believe music should surprise you, challenge you, and occasionally make you question the world around you.
Born from the ashes of The Alex’s former show Air Tight, The Exiled Signal takes the musical freedom of that show and pushes it somewhere new.
There are no genre walls here.
Underground music, indie artists, forgotten classics, deep cuts, punk, hip-hop, reggae, soul, funk, blues, alternative, Latin music, rock en español, psychedelic sounds and music from around the world can all collide in the same episode.
What you won’t hear is music simply because it’s popular.
Pop music already has a home.
The Exiled Signal is for everything living outside the algorithm.
Music With Something to Say
The show runs on two ideas:
Dangerous ideas for dangerous minds.
And:
Destroy the systems that invest more in your failure than in your success.
That doesn’t mean somebody is going to tell you what to think. Quite the opposite.
The Exiled Signal is about freedom of thought, independent voices, workers and ordinary people defending their interests, resistance to corporate control, indigenous and native voices, Chicano culture, and questioning systems that increasingly turn human necessities, culture and even our attention into commodities.
Agree. Disagree. Question everything.
Just don’t stop thinking.

Music discovery shouldn’t be reduced to an algorithm predicting what will keep you clicking.
The Alex digs through new releases, underground artists, forgotten records, independent music and songs that deserve another listen to build each show by hand.
You might recognize the next song.
You might have forgotten it existed.
Or you might discover an artist you’ve never heard before.
That’s the point.
The Exiled Signal isn’t trying to give you more of what you already know. It’s trying to help you find what you didn’t know you were looking for.

The Exiled Signal is produced as part of Green Coast Radio, an independent internet radio station built around human-curated music and freedom of thought, expression and discovery.
